What is included, and what costs extra

Every machine listed above ships as a bundle. Across the range that means:

• A mask — on several models you choose the style (nasal, full face or nasal pillows) when you order.
• Tubing, an air filter, the power supply and a carry or storage bag.
• Humidification — every machine has built-in or chamber humidification except the Mini Auto Travel CPAP, which uses a waterless moisture exchanger designed for travel.
• A one-year warranty, and 30 days to return the machine if it is not right for you.

Costs that come later rather than up front are consumables. A replacement CPAP mask is £79, and cleaning supplies run from £33 for wipes to £88 for a cleaner and sanitiser bundle. Masks, cushions and filters are the parts that wear out; the machine itself is commonly quoted as lasting around five to seven years with regular cleaning and filter changes.

Choosing between fixed CPAP, auto CPAP and BiPAP

Price differences across the range mostly reflect the therapy mode and the comfort features, not brand premium:

• Auto CPAP (APAP) adjusts pressure through the night within a set range. Most of the range sits here, from £399.
• BiPAP uses separate inhale and exhale pressures and is normally chosen when a clinician has recommended bilevel therapy. These start at £512.
• Travel machines trade a water chamber and some size for portability.
